~ A bed, a book, and my computer ~
Hello, my friends! I am home. First of all, thanks needs to go out to everyone who has been praying. I always feel truly blessed to have a wonderful group of friends, but never more than I did this past week. The godly qualities that I see come through other's lives is just inspiring to me. I was really scared going into this surgery; there were so many things riding on it. I am convinced that it was everyone's prayers that kept me so calm and also guided the doctor's hands to a successful operation. So even though most of these people don't read my blog, thanks goes out to Mary Beth, Marilyn, Erin, Scottie, Ginni (and Chase), Karen, Angie, Jennifer, Tootie, Erin, Mike, Addison, Danny, Teresa, Skip and of course my mom. Only being in the hospital for 2 and a half days, I never expected so many people to visit. In truth, I expected about 3 or 4 people. I also had a lot of calls from those who couldn't come which meant a lot to me and some flowers from mom, Chris, my office family, and Beka. Oh and thanks for the emails and cards too. Scottie and Danny experienced my most interesting night when it was just the 3 of us in the room and I was really doped up on morphine and anesthetic. This was also the time I got quite a few phone calls which Scott would answer but I would always end up taking over so that I could tell whoever it was how much I loved them!!! Who knows what else I said. Scott can tell ya. I just remember that he kept laughing at me and I had no idea why! :-)

I have tried to get online the past couple of days to check out some friend's blogs, email, etc. I think I only managed to wish one friend a happy birthday on his blog and make a sad attempt at humor on another friend's blog. After one thing, I would feel exhausted. Also, the nausea is really tough. The pain meds are keeping me comfortable although I'm still really sore, but the nausea... man!! I hate it. I think I am going to have to stick with dry toast and jello. Yum!

I'm looking at 2 weeks in bed and then another 2 weeks of slow movement and very light activity. Then after that it depends. I have decided to be a good girl and follow the Dr's orders completely. It's important for mine and Chris' future so I am dedicated. Mom got some good bed stuff from the Tempurpedic store, like wedge pillows and something that elevates my legs a bit so that my stomach isn't being stretched. It really helps. With all that, my computer, a cool bed tray, books, and 24: Season 3, I should be good for a while.

Thanks again, my blog readers, for all your encouragement, support, and prayers over the past several weeks. You all completely personify friendship. I hope I can return the favor whenever you may need it.
