~ The Vineyard ~

Well, Chris and I took our monthly trip to the Cincy airport yesterday. The KS are doing a concert at Princeton tonight. I have a very dear friend that lives there and she is showing him all the sights today. This is the second time that Chris has been able to spend time with a close friend of mine while on tour and I think it's great. I love that my friends want to get to know him and vice versa.

While Chris was here during Christmas we were so lazy concerning wedding plans. This time however we had fires lit under our butts I guess because we got so much done. Especially considering that I worked full days last week I am even prouder of us. We hired a florist, a DJ, cake maker, and a caterer. I finally picked the color of my bridesmaid dresses (have you ever realized how many colors exist in the world? I think I have looked at them all now.) I have never planned such a large event before (or two events) and I have to admit that it can be a bit overwhelming at times. At least that is how I was feeling before last week. But our wedding coordinator has really kicked it into high gear and is taking care of a lot for us. We are really having a lot of fun. Chris is amazing because he really likes to be involved and he isn't one of those guys that sits back and says, "Whatever you want. I don't care." He knows what he likes and what he wants and it's great to work with someone like that.

I will post more details about the wedding as time goes on but I will start with showing you guys some pics of where our American ceremony will be. It's called Talon Winery and Vineyards and we love it out there. When we first started looking for venues we looked around at different churches (of course), but after a while I realized that we were planning two weddings that were going to be very similar. In England the ceremony is being held in a gorgeous and very old chapel on the campus of Cambridge. We decided that since we get the blessing of two ceremonies, why not make them completely different. So that is what led us to choose the vineyard. Just a little trivia, it's the only vineyard in Fayette County and has only been around for about 5 years. We have rented out the whole place for the day including the main farmhouse where there will be wine tasting in between the ceremony and dinner. To explain the pics, the first one is Chris and I at Talon back in August 2005 about 3 weeks after getting engaged. We are getting married under the gazebo seen in the second one and the third one shows the farmhouse and to the right is the pavilion where the dancing will be. Off the far end of the pavilion will be our white tent for dinner. Yay!!
